JEE Main 2016 is the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) conducted by C.B.S.E as admission criteria for admission in NIT’s, IIIT’s , Central funded technical institutes, Institute funded by participating state government and other institutes.
Students qualifying JEE Main will be eligible to appear for JEE Advance which is a gateway for admission in B.Tech courses in IIT’s.
JEE Main 2016 Examination Pattern
JEE-Main Exam 2016 will have two papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2. Students may opt for either or both of them.
- Paper-1 is for admission in B.E./B.Tech (online and offline).
- Paper-2 is for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning (offline only).

JEE Main 2016 Syllabus
Paper 1 Contains Questions from Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Syllabus of JEE Main is almost same as that of NCERT of Class 11th and 12th.
Paper 2 Contains Questions from Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing.

Eligibility Criteria of JEE Main 2016
1. Date of Birth
Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1991 are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2016. There is relaxation of five years for students of SC, ST and PWD(person with disability).
2. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)
Only those candidates who have passed their class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying exam in 2014 or 2015 or those appearing for the exam in 2016 are eligible in JEE (Main) 2016.
3. Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination
Students must have taken 5 subject in their class 12 or any equivalent qualifying exam.
4. Number of Attempts
A Student can appear for JEE main only 3 times.
