Know How BITSAT is Different ?

Study Plan

BITSAT needs a different study plan and management. The most important factor for the preparation is the time management. The success depends on how much time given to each subject. IT is a tough exam to be cracked and hence the thorough knowledge and practice of the syllabus subjects is very important. Main academic areas are Mathematics and Physics as these are hugely needed after getting into the engineering college. After being confident about these two subjects, Chemistry, English and Reasoning should be mastered.

Eligibility Criteria

If an applicant is planning to apply for BITSAT this year, then he/she must be aware of the eligibility criteria. The complete eligibility criteria are mentioned below.

  • For 2016 entrance, applicant must be +2 or equivalent exam passed in 2015 or pursuing +2 or equivalent exam in the running year.
  • Applicant must secure overall 75 percentage in PCM and minimum 60 percent in each of the subjects; Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Must be a PCM student in +2 or equivalent.

Exam Pattern

BITSAT has a different exam pattern. Applicant must not compare it with other exams as lots of different things may have to be faced during the BITSAT online entrance exam. The exam patter includes:

  • Questions will be objective. ‘+3’ marks of every right answer and ‘-1’ negative marking for each incorrect answer.
  • Total 3 hours will be provided to try the question paper.
  • Exam will not be on paper, it will be online.
  • Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Reasoning subjects will be included in the exam.
  • Mathematics will have 45 questions where as Physics and Chemistry will contain 40 questions each. English will contain 15 questions and Logical reasoning will have 10 questions.
  • Total 150 questions will have to be solved in 3 hours. If all the 150 questions have been attempted before the time limit, extra 12 questions will be provided.

Cut off is the minimum marks which a student must score in order to qualify for a particular course. Cut off marks vary from year to year, but they will give you an average idea of minimum marks you need to get in order to qualify the exam. Tips For Preparation

Preparation of BITSAT is different from preparation of JEE Main and Advanced.As the basic concepts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics remains same irrespective of the exam, specific preparation is required for gaining extra speed and for English and Logical Reasoning section.

The tips for preparation for BITS include constant focus on Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Go through the NCERT theories and questions. A decent preparation for English and reasoning also needed.

2016 BITSAT Important Dates (EXPECTED)

  • Online starting of registration- December 2015
  • Test Center allotment – February, 2016
  • Admit card download- April, 2016
  • BITSAT exam online- May, 2016

Test Center

BITSAT is conducted online in multiple slots over days in more than 50 cities of India and Dubai. If you choose center in India you need to provide 3 choices and if you choose Dubai no need to provide choice you will be given test center in Dubai.
